KING'S and AIDC Join Forces at TaipeiPLAS 2026 to Advance AI in Smart Manufacturing
From live SmartEdge machine data to AIDC's AIxWARE command center, the debut of SmartEdge's new industrial design showcases the results of cross-industry integration and market collaboration.
At TaipeiPLAS 2026 in September, KING'S Solution exhibited alongside Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation (AIDC), a leader in Taiwan's aerospace industry. Live data from a KING'S low-pressure injection molding machine was displayed on AIDC's AIxWARE command center, allowing visitors to see how the machine connects to a smart manufacturing platform. This exhibition result also laid the groundwork for the two companies to explore further AI applications for injection molding machines.
KING'S brings expertise in injection molding machine design and molding processes. AIDC brings capabilities in IoT machine connectivity, data integration, and smart manufacturing platforms. Through the joint exhibition, resource sharing, and customer conversations, KING'S can introduce AIxWARE to its customers, while AIDC can connect customers seeking equipment with KING'S molding solutions. Each company contributes its expertise as they explore opportunities for technical cooperation and market development.
During the exhibition, AIDC President Hsiu-Mei Chuang visited the booth to learn about the SmartEdge benchtop low-pressure injection molding machine and took a photo with the KING'S team. After learning about the equipment and low-pressure molding process, members of AIDC's AI team also expressed interest in further collaboration. With live machine data already connected, the two teams now have a more concrete starting point for discussing future AI applications.
SmartEdge's updated industrial design made its public debut at the show. Compared with the version exhibited at K Show in Germany, the new appearance uses industrial design to strengthen the machine's visual identity and perceived value, attracting industry peers to the booth for discussion. The team also demonstrated waterproof encapsulation for electronic products using bio-based material, highlighting potential applications for the benchtop machine in the materials and electronics markets.
SmartEdge brings together nearly two years of cross-disciplinary development. KING'S led the integration of mechanical and electrical controls; the Smart Manufacturing R&D Center at Chung Yuan Christian University transferred IoT connectivity and machine learning technologies; the Taiwan Design Research Institute contributed an industrial design perspective; and the Precision Machinery Research Development Center (PMC) supported machine development and carbon footprint-related work. Their combined expertise continues to guide SmartEdge toward smarter, lower-carbon operation and a better user experience.
The outcomes of TaipeiPLAS ranged from the debut of SmartEdge's new design and the display of live data in the AIxWARE command center to customer exchanges and ideas for AI research. KING'S looks forward to continuing its work with AIDC and other partners to bring smart manufacturing into customers' production lines.
